The SEC announced today that it will hold an open meeting on Tuesday, November 5 at 10:00 a.m. ET (available via webcast at www.sec.gov) to consider whether to propose amendments to the Advisers Act Advertising Rule and Cash Solicitation Rule as well as to the Proxy Rules.
Advertising: The long awaited SEC reconsideration of the regulatory framework governing investment adviser advertising and to modernize the rule is now ready for consideration by the industry.
Solicitors Rule: The SEC will also propose amendments under the Advisers Act of 1940 to the rules that involve the use and payments to solicitors.
Proxy Voting Advice: The SEC also will consider whether to propose amendments to the proxy solicitation rules regarding proxy voting advice.
Shareholder Proposal Thresholds: Finally, the SEC will consider whether to propose amendments to the shareholder proposal rules to modernize the submission and resubmission requirements as well as updates to procedural requirements.
